Kinstone is a very unique and beautiful place. Rental Information

Please note, in all cases, facility rentals are non-exclusive; this means that Kinstone remains open to visitors during our published open hours.

Rental Information for Weddings

Kinstone is very unique. You will not find another place like it in the USA for your wedding. Kinstone is available for micro wedding ceremonies or vow renewal ceremonies of 1 to 50 guests. No receptions. Rental terms are $800 for 2 hours, outdoors only. Additionally, the rental fees include 1 Photography Permit, and admission to Kinstone for all Attendees solely for the day of the event.  Note that we do not offer any other amenities such as chairs, tents, or indoor preparation areas. Wedding parties must arrive already dressed and prepared. A venue rental agreement is required which includes all terms and conditions.

Other Rentals

Kinstone Visitor Center:  A portion of the Kinstone Visitor Center is available for rent for groups of 1 to 20 persons for meetings, arts and crafts gatherings, presentations, and similar events. If your activity requires reasonable table space per person, keep the number in your group at 12 or below. The building also hosts the Kinstone Library and Gift Shop. The rental area is semi-private as it is separated from the rest of the building by a partial room divider that is not soundproof. Rental terms are $30/hour plus anyone in the group who walks around the grounds at Kinstone must also pay the posted Kinstone admission fee. The total admission fees must be paid along with the rental payment.

All Other Locations at Kinstone: all other structures (i.e. Yurt, Dragon’s Keep, Cabin, Chapel) and all outdoor spaces at Kinstone may be available to rent on a case by case basis for retreat events for a fee. Contact us to discuss your ideas and get a quote.

Photography Permit Information

Generally, individuals visiting Kinstone may take photographs for personal use without the need for a photography permit. NO DRONES without a permit! If you are in doubt about the photography you wish do to, please read through each of the permit types below for more information.

Photography Permit Type: Simple Photography

Permit Fee: permits start at $50/session

Anyone who wishes to take occasion photographs of a person, group of persons, pets, or other, specifically with Kinstone property as the desired background or setting, must obtain a Simple Photography Permit. Advance permission is required and must be arranged through the Kinstone office. The final permit fees must be determined and paid for in advance of the session date. This type of permit is typically granted for occasions such as graduation photos, wedding photos, family photos, head shots, modeling photos, corporate photos, pet photos, and more.

Photography Permit Type: Commercial Photography

  • Permit Fee: permits start at $300/session
  • Site Fee: varies according to permit holder’s requirements
  • Certificate of Insurance required.

Anyone who wishes to take photographs at Kinstone that will be used to promote a product, service, or business, must obtain a Commercial Photography Permit and pay a Site Fee. Advance permission is required and must be arranged through the Kinstone office. Site fees and final permit fees must be negotiated and paid for in advance of the session date. At this time, Kinstone does not endorse any products or services and any photographs that imply such endorsement are prohibited.

CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE: All persons desiring to do commercial photography at Kinstone must obtain a certificate of insurance prior to the proposed photo shoot. A Certificate of Insurance (COI), naming the Directors of Kinstone, S3439 Cole Bluff Lane, Fountain City, Wisconsin, 54629 as additional insured, providing comprehensive general liability insurance, in amounts not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence and $1,000,000 in the aggregate or a combined single limit of $1,000,000 shall be submitted to the Director of Kinstone at least five (5) days before the shoot.

Photography Permit: Drone Photography

  • Permit Fee: permits start at $100/session
  • Site Fee: varies according to permit holder’s requirements

Anyone who wishes to operate a drone on or over Kinstone property and/or to take drone photography of Kinstone property must obtain a Drone Photography Permit and pay a Site Fee. Advance permission is required and must be arranged through the Kinstone office. Site fees and final permit fees must be negotiated and paid for in advance of the session date.

NOTE: Some or all of the fees may be waived if the permit holder agrees to provide all images and videos produced during the drone photography session to Kinstone for its use. Such images and videos may be used alone or incorporated into various forms including, but not limited to, pamphlets, books, videos, presentations, newsletters, magazines, and presented digitally or in print, online, during live events or in other similar manner. The permit holder must authorize such use without restriction and shall expect no compensation for such use.

PLEASE NOTE! Kinstone does not allow drone photography during regular business hours. Exceptions include:

  • Media organizations with specific permission from the Director of Kinstone at pre-designated times.
  • Kinstone staff who have requested and scheduled drone flyover footage of Kinstone property and construction projects

Rules/Policies

Every rental of Kinstone property shall be governed by a rental agreement that includes specific rules, policies and procedures, and payment schedules that the renter must adhere to. The agreement shall be reviewed and signed by the renter prior to final reservation of any specific calendar date. At the time the agreement is finalized and signed, a 25% non-refundable deposit of the estimated total fee will be required to hold the date.
